Re: CJ3B
So while shoveling the 53+ inches of snow this winter, I though, I should have a snow plow on a Jeep
since the CJ3B was just setting on the hill, I stopped work on the FC150
and started on the CJ3B. The plan is to have a 225 V6, and the original springs and axles from my CJ7
found a 225 V6 with a T14 and a 20 then I gathered up the missing pieces and put it all together, will it run? guess we will find out later

Re: CJ3B
Body off, took the original axles, springs and spring hangers off
bolt/weld CJ7 spring hangers to frame, they had to be moved an additional 4 inches forward and back for front and rear springs
CJ axles in, tires on
since rear shakles were at the very end of the frame, the draw bar would not let them flex, cut outside brackets off, removed 4 inches off each end and re-welded brackets, made new rear crossmember
That's the last 6 months- wdln

Re: CJ3B

Re: CJ3B
Those were radiator supports, someone was going to put in a V8
they are gone now, they made a nice stand when I flipped it over to work on springs

Re: CJ3B
Front output on my Dana 20 from a 70ish Jeepster is a strange little u-joint
had to pull it and install a standard u-joint Rear drive shaft I had was correct length but bent, cut 3 inch on each end, slipped into 1-1/4 pipe and welded Front drive shaft was 2 inches too short, cut each end, slid into correct length 1-1/4 pipe and welded will drive shafts vibrate and fail on a 120 mph run in the Bonneville salt flats .................Yes
will they work for a 1/2 mph snow plow .................. Yes

Re: CJ3B
a short break on the CJ3B for a side project
much the way a carver will see something in a piece of wood
I saw a little Jeep grill in an old steel shelf
so I'm building a little Jeep body Grill is cut out and one fender done its setting in the bed of the FC150
measurements are 62% of the CJ2A

Re: CJ3B
Sides, cowl and dash
turns out the cowl sides are compound angles
You think of a Jeep as being straight linesturns out the cowl sides are compound angles

Re: CJ3B
Got headers and exhaust off e-bay for the CJ3B 225 V6 this week
so its back to work on getting it started
and just happens the mini jeep yard art is done this week
now I have to decide
are the wheels / tires under the Jeep or is it tired out and resting what do you think
