Central IL auto show

Post by TSEJEEPERS »

OK so it is coming up. Whos Jeep is going in? I like Dents idea of Lenny's Wagoner and Larry Haas' Cherokee. Maybe the winner of the golden shaft awards TJ if we can fit them all and if they are availible.

Do we want both of Dave's and Larrys. Maybe we should save one for next year.

I agree... one or the other of the FSJ's. Doesn't matter to me which one. Steve's TJ would be cool too. What about yours, Tom? It would be cool to have a built Jeep out there with some battle scars.

 Just had a thought, we could have one stock Jeep, one slightly modified Jeep, and one modified Jeep. Potential members who have stock Jeeps would see they do not necessarily have to have a "big" Jeep to have fun. Just a thought

I also would vote for Jerry O's or Jon Martin's for modified, Jim Eveans or Derek Stimeling for slightly modified, and Bill Spencer has a nice stock Jeep. Oh, did I vote for me

My Jeep was used a couple of years ago so I would like to be excluded. As for my little yellow flat fender, it is probably a safety hazzard.

Jerry's would be good for modified. As far as the people with some what stock, most people need them to drive.

I vote for Jerry's and Dave or Larry's. That would be good.

Although I get what you're saying about having a stock Jeep and it's a good point, we only get so much space and people will be able to see stock Jeeps at the Jeep booth. My vote would be to keep it more towards something visually interesting that people can't see in just any parking lot... something that will draw them in. If we get someone who's interested in joining but has concerns about driving a stock rig, that's what the people manning our booth are for! Talk 'em in. Then we'll tell them how to "ruin" their ride.

Good thinking Dave, I would still offer my Jeep and my time if needed. One looks a lot better than the other, you decide

I will offer up dad's 7 for the chopping block. I will also offer the 6. Hopefully it will have a body by then. Could be a in-progress display.

Do we know how much space we have? Same as last year? That would also affect our decision.

I think our display needs to be visually exciting with good Jeeps (you decide what a good jeep is) and good displays. I think we should have some volunteers make up nice picture boards to display along with the videos we usually show. In years past, Jill has put all of the pictures together by herself. I think we should really take advantage of the space that is given to us and make the most of it.

Hey you know what I even have pictures of what our Jeeps started, or sorta started out like. Ray's on 33 and leaf springs, Jon's on 33 and stock axles you get the idea. We could take those pictures and put them next to current pictures!

I don't think we should have a stock Jeep in the show because Jeep will be at the Car Show and that is all they will have. No offense to stockers. I think they look cool, but not for the show.

Are we having the video playing at the exhibit? Seems like that would be an "already done" way of showing images (pics/vids) from last year.

Of course, I am biased a bit.
