Passenger side door won't open or close properly

Hi guys, have another one for you.
My passenger side door is giving me grief,
Doesn't open or close.
When I try opening from inside door handle moves but nothing. Same thing from outside.
The only way to close it is by slamming it shut.
Try to replace the latch mechanism well no luck same problem.
Any suggestions will be appreciated

I would check the body around where the door striker mounts. Have seen the tub crack and the striker sit at an odd angle and either be hard to latch/release or not catch and have the door pop open.

I have a 1988 YJ,
The doors came from 1992
I end up fixing after looking thru the completely assembly of the door.
Really easy, I cannot believe I over looked the problem in the first place.
