I've drained the bad fuel from the fairly clean plastic tank and ordered a new pickup/fuel float, running it from a gas can for now. I've added a choke cable and set the timing and idle as well as added a mechanical oil pressure gauge. Also plugged a vacuum leak and cleaned it up a little. Engine oil and filter were changed by the previous owner.
It's a 360, Auto, PS/PB truck. Engine is fairly fresh for the trucks age, but the carb is not only over-sized (650 rather than a 470) but one of the idle circuits is plugged and it only idles on every other cylinder. However once off idle it runs strong.
Even on 4 cylinder (when up to temp) It's idling at 600 RPM and pulling 16 vacuum with 12º timing with an electronic (HEI) distributor and holding 15 psi on the oil. At speed it's holding 48+ psi oil pressure.
Once i have the title in hand I'll either sell whole or part it out. But for now it's part of my "fleet".
